Pedestrian safety is an important issue for many in our community, but particularly the children and elderly who regularly walk to school and the shops respectively.

Recently, there has been reported near misses at the Lane Cove Road crossing, near Coxs Road, North Ryde. As a result of these near misses, I wrote the Minister for Roads, requesting higher visibility signage, and longer time to walk across the crossing (the 'green man'). After meeting parents and school children at the intersection, the Minister for Roads acceded to the aforementioned requests.
